Heavy Equipment Operator
BRI is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to add to our growing team. This position is full-time M-F 7:00am-4:00pm with a one hour lunch break. The job location is primarily located in Kanawha and Putnam counties. Interested applicants MUST possess at least 10 years of verified operating experience. Applicants must pass a drug screening and have a clear driving record. The core role of the Heavy Equipment Operator is executing precision grading, excavation, slopes, and footers.
Required Equipment Expertise
- Excavators: Trenching, mass excavation, footers and utility placement.
- Bulldozers: Finish grading, cut & fill.
- Compactor: Vibratory drum compactor.
- Motor Grader: Operation of a plus but not required.
- Telehandler: Loading & unloading of material, setting metal structures.
- Tri-Axle Dump: Hauling, Loading & dumping of material.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Planning: Interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and construction plans.
- Equipment Care: Perform daily pre-trip inspections and fluid maintenance.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA and MSHA regulations.
Candidate Qualifications
- Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A preferred).
- Certifications: OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Safety card.
- Physical Capacity: Ability to lift 80 pounds and climb machinery.
- Medical Fitness: Pass a DOT physical and drug screening
